Portable DataRecovery – Data Recovery Tool For the User on the Go
If you are constantly on the go, and you need to take a data recovery tool with you, then you could get the portable Tokiwa-developed application DataRecovery. You can simply put this application on a portable storage device, like an USB stick, and take it with you wherever you want to go.
There are two tasks you will be able to perform with DataRecovery. As the application’s name suggests, it will recover accidentally deleted or lost files. Some computer users believe that if you deleted a file, that file is gone forever. The file did not go anywhere, it is still there.
The file is truly gone only when it is overwritten. The operating system may tell you that the file is gone, but unless it has been overwritten, it is still on the hard drive. And it if is there, it can be recovered. That is what DataRecovery can do. It will scan the drive you indicate, look for deleted files, then bring the file you specify back to life.
The second task DataRecovery can do is to securely erase files. After the application scans a drive, you can select one of the deleted files the application detected – then you can press the Wipe button and that file will be permanently deleted. This is to say that no other data recovery tool, DataRecovery included, will not be able to bring it back to life.
Before you get DataRecovery and put it through its paces, check out these technical details:
Download – the download weighs in at 200KB. This means the download will complete in no time at all, which is nice.
Installation – you do not have to install anything. Just extract the contents of the archive you just downloaded and run DataRecovery.
Limitations – you can use DataRecovery free of charge for as long as you want since the application is freeware.

Cons
